W. R. Sizer born to E.D. and Louisa Sizer. E.D. operated a store in Sizerville but it is not clear when that store was first built. |

1860 - March 19 |
Cameron County was formed by an act of the Pennsylvania Assembly. It was formed from parts of Clearfield, Elk, Clinton, McKean and Potter Counties. Cameron County was named in honor of Simon Cameron who was the United States Senator from Pennsylvania at that time. Portage Township (Potter County) become part of Cameron County. The Portage Township now found in Potter County is not the same one that existed prior to 1860. |

Sizer mineral water well created by J.G. Bryan and Co. when drilling for oil on land leased from Preston & Co. Land. The land was then known as the Cowley Farm (J.H. Beers pgs 870 & 921) |

Buffalo, New York & Philadelphia Railway opens between Olean and Emporium completing new route from Buffalo to Philadelphia & Erie and Northern Central Rails. (PRRT&HS) |
