Gardeau Train Wreck and Chemical Spill

June 30, 2006 an unprecedented tragedy struck the Portage Valley. A south-bound Norfolk-Southern train derailed and dumped thousands of gallons of toxic chemicals into the Sinnemahoning Portage Creek. These pages are dedicated to documenting this tragedy as best as we can so everyone can appreciate the significance of horrible accident.
