Gardeau Train Wreck and Chemical Spill

June 30, 2006 an unprecedented tragedy struck the Portage Valley. A south-bound Norfolk-Southern train derailed and dumped thousands of gallons of toxic chemicals into the Sinnemahoning Portage Creek.
